MV Throwback: Japanese Breakfast – “Everybody Wants to Love You”
The “MV Throwback” series is dedicated to promoting music videos that were released from artists that we love. Since we’re launching in 2018, we don’t want you to miss out on all those awesome videos from the past!
Old meets new in Japanese Breakfast’s music video for “Everybody Wants to Love You,” which was released from her debut album Psychopomp last year. Celebrating her Korean roots, frontwoman Michelle Zauner dons a traditional Korean hanbok–a type of formal attire that is normally reserved for special occasions–and reclaims what it represents to her. It’s also worth mentioning that the dress in question was her mother’s own wedding dress!
In this (apparently) very versatile piece of clothing, she smokes, sings karaoke, rides motorcycles, plays a killer guitar solo… and much more.
Is there anything you can’t do in a hanbok?
