MV: Mitski – “A Pearl”

Be the Cowboy is the gift that keeps on giving.
After landing on almost every year end list imaginable (including ours!), Mitski is back today with a new visual for her song “A Pearl”–her fourth one for the album if you’re keeping count.
Directed by New York artists Saad Moosajee and Danae Gosset in collaboration with Spotify by Art Camp, the music video is one of Mitski’s most striking visuals yet. As one of the more abrasive songs on the album, the raw sound of “A Pearl” is contrasted here with pastel canvases that our unnamed protagonist runs and falls through. If you ever wondered what a third-person Mirror’s Edge run would look like set to indie rock, this would probably be it. Here, Mitski’s music is allowed to soar.
