Is there anything more fun than a CHAI video?
Today, the four-piece kawaii-rockers (whose debut album Pink was one of our favorites from last year) released their newest song, “CHOOSE GO!” along with a music video. “CHOOSE GO!” follows the release of two other singles “GREAT JOB” and “Fashionista” from their newest album Punk, out March 15.
Just like we’ve come to expect from CHAI, “CHOOSE GO!” is an energetic two-part switch-up: first starting off with a patterned, head-bobbing beat that eventually devolves into disorienting distorted rock. But this time around, “CHOOSE GO!” also incorporates a shimmying dance-rock beat and a cheerleader chant into the song, which will somehow find its way into your head for the rest of the day. Add to that CHAI’s charming signature pinks and their tangible joy (the four girls always look like they’re having a blast), and you’ve got a hit!
The music video is a fun, high-energy spectacle–much of what we’ve come to expect from the band. Here you’ll find the girls throwing down their cheerleading pom-poms for American football, hockey, baseball, bread karate (yes, you read that correctly!), and track sprints. Surprisingly, they aren’t all out of breath by the end of the video!
Like the band themselves say: CHOOSE GO! CHOOSE FREEDOM!
CHAI’s sophomore album Punk will be released on March 15 via Burger Records.
