Announcing Our 2024 Reader’s Poll!

It’s once again Listmas over here at From the Intercom, which means that we’re going to be taking the entire month of December to look back at some of the best film/music that 2024 had to offer. But before we officially dive into our yearly retrospectives, we’d like to hear from you, the reader! The staff at FTI and I have been telling y’all about what we’ve been excited about over the past few months, so now it’s your turn.

Let us know what excited you and enamored you throughout the year… which albums do you still have on repeat and what were you obsessed with watching over the past few months? Not only does this give me an idea of what our friends are paying attention to, but I also get really excited learning more about the people who frequent the site. Sometimes I’ll even come across some new favorites (I’ll admit that the first time I heard of Ichiko Aoba was from the very first Reader’s Poll back in 2018… thank you to whoever submitted her music!).

Check back in at the end of the month to see what your fellow readers picked as their favorites of 2024! Now, get reminiscing and fill out that survey!

Side note: The last time we did a Reader’s Poll it was back in 2020 and we only got maybe 3 submissions? If we get more than that this time, I’ll be real happy 🙂

A few ground rules:

• Please get your submissions in by Dec 20, 2024 so I have time to put together an article before the year ends!
• Remember that FTI’s goal is to spotlight Asian creators in the media… so while you can submit your Sabrina Carpenters and Chappell Roans that’s not really the focus of a survey like this! Basically, if you think we’d write about it if you pitched it to us, it’s fair game.
• The film/music that you submit must have been released within the past year: November 2023~December 2024.
• Feel free to write little blurbs about your submissions if you want! Even if it’s just something like, “This album is fire,” that would be cool. It’s not required, but I do read every submission so if you want to let me know why you picked a project I’d be really grateful for it!
