As 2018 draws to a close, it’s almost time again for everyone’s favourite season… LISTMAS!
Around the end of November/throughout December, tons of publications will be listing out their favorite songs of the year, and we’re going to try to do the same.
The From the Intercom staff will be creating 5 different lists:
1. Our Favorite Asian/Anglo-Asian Albums or EPs of the year
2. Our Favorite Asian/Anglo-Asian Singles of the year
3. Other Albums/EPs That We Enjoyed
4. Other Singles That We Enjoyed
5. Reader’s Poll
Lists 3 & 4 are reserved for any albums/releases that are NOT made by Asian/Anglo-Asian artists. The reason why we decided to separate them was because you’d probably do better reading an all-inclusive list like that over on NPR, Stereogum, P4K etc. Other releases aren’t our site specialty, but we’d still like to acknowledge musical achievements on our site anyways!
Even though we usually focus on songs sung in English, this time around foreign language songs are ELIGIBLE for nomination.
Since we’re still a small publication, there’s probably a lot of releases that we missed out over the course of the year. That’s where you come in: let us know what we’ve missed!
Please help us out by answering these questions, and helping us best establish what music in 2018 was like for Asian/Anglo-Asian artists.
This poll will close on November 18, 2018 to give us some time to listen to all of the releases that you recommended. Please submit your responses AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. Any amendments/additions you’d like to suggest can be done by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
